Trout in the Classroom
This year we will be raising rainbow trout.
They are here! Another year of raising rainbow trout has begun. My STEM students sorted the viable from non-viable eggs and counted them up. We now have 257 rainbow trout eggs growing in our tank with only 9 non-viable ones needing to be removed. We are hoping for a great year. But when will they hatch?
After the trout hatch, they are cared for by the students until late May when the surviving fingerlings are released into the local Wanaque River in West Milford, NJ.
